There are plenty of customers to go around if
your business is doing a good job. Attracting new customers
and retaining them is part of that. And the customers you
already have may not know, or have forgotten about other products
or services you offer.
Some businesses are fortunate enough to build
and maintain a customer base solely through word of mouth.
However most businesses require frequency in advertising,
sales calls and keeping your name in front of as many potential
customers as possible. Different advertising mediums will
result in attracting different audiences. Acombination can
produce wonderful results. Get creative and think about what
will work for you.
Advertising doesnít usually make someone want
your product or service. Itís more about the timing - being
in front of the customersí mind when they do need you. And
if you arenít on their mind, someone else probably is. Advertising
is about increased awareness of your products and services.
There are numerous studies showing that it takes
several times for a prospective customer to be aware of your
company before they become a customer. That particular number
is different depending on what study you read, but one thing
is certain, and that is consistency in advertising and creating
an awareness is important if you want to be a successful business
